AAS Corporate Sponsor and Exhibitor Eligibility Policy

It is the policy of the American Astronomical Society to prioritize the advancement of its own products and services to its meeting participants and members, while being inclusive and promoting all organizations that foster and serve the astronomical sciences community.

The AAS welcomes corporate relationships that help the society fulfill its mission, vision and strategic goals.

In a practical sense, the Society will prominently and preferentially highlight AAS and AAS Division membership and membership benefits; career services; journals and publications; online tools; and future conferences of the Society and its Divisions at our meetings in a variety of ways including signage, collateral communications, and premium exhibitor locations. Other organizations whose mission and purpose align with the Society’s mission and purpose can participate in the Exhibit Hall and sponsorship programs at the discretion of the Executive Office.

Exhibit participation and sponsorship levels will be evaluated based on several factors:

  1. Commercial enterprises versus nonprofit or member organization services.
  2. Any corporate support must help advance the astronomical sciences community or enhance the meeting for participants, while aligning with the Society’s purpose, mission, vision, and goals.
  3. Any activity for which corporate support is accepted will be under AAS’s complete control regarding messaging, logo placement, and exhibit booth location.
  4. AAS reserves the right, in AAS’s sole judgment, to determine eligibility or compatibility of any organization or its products or services to exhibit at Society meetings.

In its relations with corporate organizations, the AAS is mindful of the need to avoid a perception of conflict of interest and to act at all times in ways that will only enhance the credibility, professional recognition, and support of the society and its members.

Sponsorship of an AAS meeting does not imply AAS endorsement of the sponsor or its products and services.
