Future Sky Surveys and Big Data

Future Sky Surveys and Big Data 25-29 April 2016 Cosmology Group at Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) Daejeon, South Korea

The workshop will be focused mainly on how future surveys, and in particular the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), can help us solve challenging big problems in cosmology and astrophysics. Areas of special interest include the use of advanced statistical techniques and synergy between surveys (KASI has involvement in DESI, GMT, KMTNet, and SPHEREx). The meeting also serves to boost and encourage engagement by the astronomy community in Korea and East Asia in preparation for dealing with future big data. We are happy that both LSST Director Steve Kahn and LSST Deputy Director Beth Willman will attend this workshop.
