Presidential Transition 2016

Last updated: 1 PM, 22 February 2017

The Presidential Transition ended at 12:01pm, 20 January 2017. At that time, the new administration began.

As of 22 February 2017, we will no longer update this page. The AAAS has put together a website (www.forceforscience.org) that is, in many ways, the source of information we had hoped this page would become. We direct you to AAAS's Force for Science for information about the first 100 days of this new administration/Congress. Please note that, while AAS will always support and encourage you to advocate for your science, the specific AAAS Actions included on the Force for Science website have not been explicitly endorsed by the AAS.

During the presidential transition, we can begin to get an understanding of what policy the new administration might pursue based on the appointments that are discussed and eventually made. It is the intention of AAS Policy to document these discussions of presidential appointments as best we can. We will similarly work to document announcements on policy priorities.

We will also post any materials that AAS uses in our advocacy and outreach to the new administration.
