Total Solar Eclipse Experience

On Monday, 21 August 2017, all of North America will have a solar eclipse, including an approximately 70-mile-wide path across the US from Oregon to South Carolina that will experience a total solar eclipse. SPD meeting attendees have the opportunity to travel from Portland to the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, for the unique and breathtaking experience of witnessing a total solar eclipse. You don't want to miss this! (Please note: An additional bus has been added!)

Tentative Agenda (final times will be confirmed closer to the event)

• 5:30 am – Depart hotel ("grab-and-go" breakfast)
• 8:30 am – Arrive in Salem
• 9:05 am – Partial eclipse begins
• 10:17 am – Totality
• 11:00 am – Lunch delivered
• 12:30 pm – Depart Salem
• 3:30 pm – Arrive Hotel

The $70 Fee Includes:

• Round-trip transportation from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland to Salem, Oregon
• “Grab-and-go” breakfast and coffee
• Bottle of water
• Box lunch (delivered onsite in Salem)
